Profit with Purpose: Strategic CSR, ESG and Sustainability
27 April, 2023
Hotel Pullman, New Delhi
With 2% of corporate profits earmarked by MCA regulations and SEBI enforced reporting mechanism, India has a very proactive CSR culture. A significant pool of resources (Circa Rs 25,000 Cr p a) is being invested in the CSR projects. A lot of good work is being done by Indian companies – often aligned and magnified by Public Private partnerships- in areas like education, health, water and livelihoods etc. This amount is likely to grow as Indian economy achieves new heights.
However, the CSR function lacks adequate strategic orientation, professionalism and recognition. It’s time we help the function develop and mature and align with other emergent challenges like ESG – Environment, Sustainability and Governance challenges sustainability considerations.
*To be confirmed.
The Minister will outline his vision of how strategic CSR initiatives can contribute to nation building. Companies in India invest nearly Rs 25K Crores in CSR projects. This amount is likely to grow in the coming years. A lot of good work is being done by companies in India – often aligned and magnified with private – public partnerships in critical areas like infrastructure, health and education. Leading companies are taking a more strategic approach to CSR through bold long term nation building initiatives with measurable impact. They are the Nation Builders.
